ON-SITE

Environmental Education
Daily programs outdoors and in our greenhouse invite museum visitors to explore the natural world around us.

Preschool Prime Time
Every Friday from 9:00 AM to noon
This is a special time for children under five to enjoy  museum exhibits and hands-on art activities.

Artists in the Museum
Professional artists guide children through hands-on activities in the visual or performing arts, often incorporating recycled and found objects into their work.  From cooks to books: special projects engage young hands and minds.

Sunday Science
Children learn, create, and experiment with visiting scientists on Sundays.

Family Performances
Musicians, puppeteers, magicians, storytellers,or actors offer live performances for the entire family on special occasions.

School Visits
Teachers bring their school groups to the museum.  For more information please see the Education Connection.

Volunteer Program
Volunteers between the ages of  12 and 90 help children make the most out of each exhibit, greet visitors and collect admissions,  assist artists and scientists, or help out in our outdoor garden learning environment called Earthworks.

Topical Topics
These free workshops for parents and teachers present stimulating speakers on such issues as child development and learning. The format invites workshop participants to share their views and concerns.
