ON-SITE
Environmental Education
Daily programs outdoors and in our greenhouse
invite museum visitors to explore the natural world around us.
Preschool Prime Time
Every Friday from 9:00 AM to noon
This is a special time for children under
five to enjoy museum exhibits and hands-on art activities.
Artists in the Museum
Professional artists guide children through hands-on activities in the
visual or performing arts, often incorporating recycled and found objects
into their work. From cooks to books:
special projects engage young hands and minds.
Sunday Science
Children learn, create, and experiment with visiting
scientists on Sundays.
Family Performances
Musicians, puppeteers, magicians, storytellers,or
actors offer live performances for the entire family on special occasions.
School Visits
Teachers bring their school groups to the museum. For more information please see the Education Connection.
Volunteer Program
Volunteers between the ages of 12 and
90 help children make the most out of each exhibit, greet visitors and collect
admissions, assist artists and scientists, or help out in our outdoor
garden learning environment called Earthworks.
Topical Topics
These free workshops for parents and teachers
present stimulating speakers on such issues as child development and learning.
The format invites workshop participants to share their views and concerns.
OFF-SITE
Babes in the Woods
Preschoolers and their parents explore the great
outdoors during these gentle nature hikes. They are available in the fall
and spring months.
Outreach
Museum programs are available at your event location for a fee.
